About

Sophie Perinot is an award winning, multi-published historical novelist. Rather than focusing on one period of history, she’s a time-traveler with books spanning eras from a doomed ancient Pompeii, to the dangerous and intriguing Valois Royal Court, to the chaos of the French Revolution. The focus of her work, however, remains the same: rehabilitating characters (most often women) who have been erased from or misrepresented in history.
In addition to writing solo novels, Sophie has collaborated with authors including Kate Quinn (US) and Ben Kane (UK) to produce collaborative works. Recently, Sophie began writing crime as Evie Hawtrey. Even her mystery has history in it, featuring the 1666 Great Fire alongside a modern, London-set, storyline.
An active member of the Historical Novel Society, Sophie has served on panels at a number of the organization’s North American Conferences as well as the UK Conference. She’s also a member of the The Historical Writers Association (registered in England). Her advice to developing writers has been featured on multiple occasions in The Writer Magazine.
Sophie splits her time between Washington DC, and York, UK (where she lives as a recipient of the UK Global Talent Visa in Literature).
